We'll fix it and keep it that way.
Enclosures live outside, and outside is hard on them — storms, sun, rust, and cats hurling themselves at the mesh. Whether something's broken, sagging, worn or just overdue for a once-over, we repair and maintain catios (ours or anyone else's) so yours stays safe, secure and genuinely escape-proof.
Keep the catio as safe as the day it went up.
A cat enclosure isn't a set-and-forget structure. Timber moves, fixings work loose, mesh perishes, and one big storm can undo a season's wear in a single night. Left too long, a small fault — a sagging panel, a popped staple, a rusted joint — becomes the gap a cat slips through. Catching it early keeps the whole thing safe.
We repair what's broken and service what isn't broken yet: re-tensioning and replacing mesh, re-squaring frames, re-sealing joins, tightening or swapping fixings, and giving the enclosure a proper once-over so it's solid for another year. We're happy to work on catios we built and plenty we didn't.
Fixed properly, and kept that way.
Repairs done right
Sagging frames re-squared, storm damage put right, broken panels and doors rebuilt so the enclosure is sound again.
Re-mesh & re-seal
Worn or perished netting swapped for heavy-duty mesh, and every join re-sealed so no new gap or weak point creeps in.
Escape-proof re-check
We go over the whole enclosure for gaps, loose fixings and climb-outs, so a tired catio is genuinely secure again.
Ongoing maintenance
A regular once-over — tighten, re-seal, treat the timber and inspect — catching small faults before they become escape routes.
Is a repair or service what you need?
It's for any enclosure that's seen better days — or one you'd simply like kept in top shape.
- Your enclosure is damaged, sagging, rusting or letting the weather in
- The mesh is worn, torn or looking like a cat could push through
- You've moved into a home with a catio and want it checked over
- You'd like a regular service to keep it safe and looking sharp
Repairs & Maintenance, answered.
The things people ask us before building a repairs & maintenance.
Can you repair a catio you didn't build?
Yes — a big part of what we do is fixing enclosures built by someone else, or by a previous owner. We work out how it's made, what's failed and why, then put it right: a repair, a re-mesh, or reinforcing a weak spot in the original design.
My enclosure was damaged in a storm — can you fix it?
That's one of the most common calls we get. We re-square bent or snapped frames, replace torn mesh and damaged panels, and re-secure anything the wind has worked loose, so it's safe and solid again.
The mesh is sagging or has a hole — is that a big job?
Usually not. Re-tensioning or replacing a section of mesh on a sound frame is straightforward, and it's exactly the kind of fault worth sorting quickly, before it becomes a gap a cat can use.
How do I know if my catio is still escape-proof?
Book a once-over and we'll tell you. We check the mesh, every join, the base and the door for gaps, wear and loose fixings, flag anything that needs attention, and fix it on the spot where we can.
Do you offer regular maintenance or servicing?
Yes. We can give your enclosure a periodic service — tightening fixings, re-sealing joins, re-tensioning mesh, treating the timber and inspecting for wear — so small problems get caught long before they turn into escape routes.
Can you fix rust, rot or perished timber?
In most cases, yes. We treat or replace rusted hardware, cut out and replace rotten timber, and re-finish where needed. If a frame is too far gone we'll tell you honestly whether a repair or a rebuild is the better value.
It's structurally fine but looks tired — can you freshen it up?
Definitely. A clean-up, a re-stain of the timber and tidying the mesh and fixings can take years off an enclosure without a full rebuild. We'll suggest what's worth doing and what isn't.
I want to expand my catio, not just fix it — can you help?
We can. Growing an enclosure is really our extensions service — adding length, height, a module or a tunnel — and we'll often do it in the same visit as a repair or service. Tell us what you're picturing and we'll cover both.
Is it worth repairing an old catio or replacing it?
It comes down to the bones. If the frame's sound, repairs and a re-mesh are almost always the cheaper, greener choice. If it's fundamentally undersized, rotten or unsafe, we'll give you an honest steer on whether a rebuild makes more sense.
Do small repairs still need a site visit?
Yes — even for a small fix we like to see it, so the quote's accurate and it's done properly in one go. Send a photo when you get in touch and we can often give you a rough idea before we come out.
How much do repairs and maintenance cost?
It depends entirely on what's needed — a quick re-mesh or re-seal is a small job, major storm damage is more involved. We quote a fixed price once we've seen it, and for servicing we can talk through what a regular visit would cost.
How do I get a quote for a repairs & maintenance?
The easiest way is to build your quote online — it takes a couple of minutes and rough answers are fine. Prefer to talk first? Get in touch and we'll call you back. Every quote is free and no-obligation; here's how pricing works.
Do you build repairs & maintenance across Melbourne?
Yes — we build right across greater Melbourne. If you're not sure you're in range, drop us a line and we'll let you know.
What if a different catio style would suit me better?
No problem — we cover a whole range, from window boxes to walk-in rooms. Browse the full range of services, or just describe your space when you request a quote and we'll point you to the build that fits.
How long until my cat settles in?
Usually just a few days. Cats are drawn to warmth, height and a good vantage point, so once they've found the sun and something to watch, most make the space their own fast. Nervous or senior cats can take a little longer — we build in ramps, low steps and cosy nooks to bring them along at their own pace. Tell us your cat's character when you request a quote and we'll tailor the fit-out.
